Well the Browns are starting to wake up from their slumber. They are really starting to move around. Weather is still hit and miss. Could be cold, for sure windy and there might be a snow shower. Midges are still the food of choice with the periodic Caddis hatch.
Picked up a couple of Woodies during 2012 Waterfowl opener.
It was another ribbon filled year this year for us at the Fair. We did not get to enter everything we wanted. We really should have entered our tall Sun Flower as it’s over 12ft and the largest was 11.

Some shots of the bareback finals from the Snake River Stampede 2012
Shots from one of my favorite events. These girls blow my mind.
Some shots of the 2012 Snake River Stampede bull Riding finals. We had a great time as usual. Tough finals for the Pro’s this year. The bulls were winning.
Weather was amazing. Partly cloudy and high in the low 80′s with a slight breeze. Boat loads of Caddis today and some decent Stones. Today was a day of frustration. Missed getting two really nice ones in the boat toward the end of the trip a real bummer but it was still a great time.
Hit the Madison River this week and had a great time. The weather was a mix. Today it was overcast with rain and a slight breeze with the highs in the 50′s. The salmon flys are gone on the stretch of river we were on. There are still some nice size Stoneflies with lots of Caddis, Green Drakes and PMDs later in the day. PMDs we really hatching today in the overcast weather.
We brought a lot of Rainbows and Browns to the boat on dry flies but occasionally switched to nymphing throughout the day. It was a good time and the river is fishing well.
