The Western Idaho Fair is the state fair for the western half of Idaho. It’s tradition like all fairs was started as a competition where people gathered and competed in a variety of events mostly showing off creative items. Part of this included competitions for the best vegetables, largest vegetables, livestock competitions etc. People come from all over the West to compete and participate in the fair.
This year was our first year entering veggies from the Garden in the fair. We took it easy not entering everything we grow since we wanted to get a feel for how it goes.
We entered division 2 of the Agricultural division which includes Vegetables and Root crops.
In the division we entered Rosemary, Okra, Parsley and Jalapeno Peppers.
Our Rosemary took first place
Our Okra took first place
Our Parsley placed second
Our Jalapeno Peppers placed second
